Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about renting technology for your event, team, or project? You’re in the right place. Browse the sections below to find answers to our most common questions, or reach out to our team directly for anything not covered here.

Renting Basics
What types of technology can I rent from eTech Rentals?

eTech Rentals carries a wide range of equipment to cover just about any need. That includes laptops, MacBooks, iPads, tablets, monitors, 4K displays, TVs, printers, WiFi hotspots, bonded internet solutions, POS rentals, and more.

How long can I rent technology equipment for?

Rental periods are flexible and built around your schedule. You can rent by the day, week, or month, depending on what your project or event requires. Just let us know your timeline, and we will put together a rental plan that works for you.

Do you offer short-term and long-term technology rentals?

Yes, we do both. Short-term rentals are a great fit for events, conferences, trade shows, and temporary team needs. Long-term rentals work well for enterprise projects, extended training programs, or situations where purchasing equipment outright is not the right call.

Can eTech Rentals support large-scale device deployments for teams or enterprise projects?

Yes. We regularly support large-scale deployments for corporate teams, enterprise IT projects, training rollouts, and multi-location events. Every device is pre-configured before it ships, so your team can get up and running without any setup delays on their end.

Delivery and Logistics
How quickly can rental equipment be delivered?

In most cases, we can deliver the same day in Southern California or the next day, depending on your location and what you need. We work with tight timelines on a regular basis, so if you are up against a deadline, contact our team as early as possible, and we will do everything we can to get your gear there on time and ready to use.

Do you offer next-day delivery?

Yes, next-day delivery is available nationwide on most items in our inventory. Standard next day shipping cut off time typically around 5 pm PST – for all confirmed orders. Every order goes out pre-tested and ready to use, so there is no time lost getting set up when it arrives.

Do you ship technology rentals nationwide?

Yes! eTech Rentals ships across the country. No matter where your event or office is located, we can get the right equipment to you. Our team handles the logistics, so you are not left trying to coordinate freight or wondering whether your gear will show up when it needs to.

What happens when my rental period ends?

When your rental period ends, we handle the return. Our team will coordinate pickup in Southern California or give you details on return shipping based on your location and order details.

Setup and Support
Can devices be pre-configured before delivery?

Yes, every device is tested and configured before it leaves our facility. If you need specific settings, software, or profiles loaded ahead of time, we handle all of that, so your team or attendees can start using the equipment as soon as it arrives.

Can apps, software, and settings be installed ahead of time?

Of course! If your rental requires specific applications, browser settings, MDM profiles, or any other software configuration, just let us know when you place your order. We take care of the setup before devices ship, so everything works out of the box.

Is technical support included?

Yes. Every rental comes with access to our support team. If something comes up during your event or project, you have someone to call who already knows your setup. We stay available throughout your rental period to help you troubleshoot and resolve any issues quickly, so small problems do not turn into bigger ones.

Do you offer on-site setup or white-glove service?

Yes. For events or deployments where hands-on support makes sense, we offer on-site technicians who can manage setup, oversee equipment during your event, and handle the teardown. It is a solid option for large events, high-stakes productions, or any situation where your internal team does not have the capacity to manage the tech on their own.

Rental Planning & Troubleshooting
How do I handle a WiFi outage at my event?

Start by identifying which systems are down, then switch to your backup connection. Mobile hotspots or bonded cellular solutions can get you back online fast. Let attendees know what is happening and focus on restoring the most critical functions first, like registration and payment processing. The best way to handle an outage is to make sure you never have one by working with the right technology partner.

How do I save money on event WiFi?

First, know that venues cannot legally block you from bringing in a third-party internet provider. That alone opens up many options. From there, get a realistic picture of your actual bandwidth needs so you are not overpaying for capacity you will not use. Bringing in your own internet through mobile hotspots or bonded solutions from eTech Rentals is often the more cost-effective route. Planning 4 to 6 weeks out also helps you avoid rush fees and get better pricing.

How can I find last-minute technology rentals?

Call us. We handle last-minute requests regularly. eTech Rentals offers same-day (in Southern California) and next-day delivery on laptops, iPads, internet solutions, and more. Every device goes out pre-tested and configured, so there is no setup time lost on your end. Tell us what you need, and we will get you a quote the same day.

Should I choose venue WiFi or dedicated WiFi?

For most events, dedicated internet is the better call. Venue WiFi runs on shared infrastructure and often cannot keep up when attendance is high. A dedicated connection from eTech Rentals is sized and configured specifically for your event, so you are not competing for bandwidth with everyone else in the building. If you are running livestreams, processing payments, or expecting a large crowd, dedicated internet is the more reliable option and often the smarter investment.

Equipment-Specific Questions
Can I rent iPads for events, check-in, and registration?

Yes. iPads are one of our most popular rentals for events. They work well for attendee check-in, registration kiosks, surveys, lead capture, and point-of-sale setups. We can pre-load them with your preferred apps and configure them in kiosk mode if needed, so they are ready to go the moment they arrive on-site.

Can I rent laptops for training sessions, temporary teams, or business use?

Yes, we carry both Windows laptops and MacBooks available for short-term and long-term rental. Whether you are running a multi-day training session, onboarding a temporary team, or need workstations for a project with a set end date, we configure each device to match your requirements and deliver them ready to use.

Can I rent WiFi hotspots or event internet solutions?

Yes! eTech Rentals offers mobile hotspots and bonded cellular internet solutions for events of all sizes. If your venue’s WiFi is unreliable or you need a dedicated connection for livestreaming, payment processing, or a high number of simultaneous users, we can set you up with an internet solution sized and configured for your specific event.

Can I rent monitors, TVs, printers, and office equipment with my order?

Yes, beyond computers and internet, we carry monitors, 4K displays, large-format TVs, printers, and a range of office equipment. You can bundle everything into a single order, keeping logistics simple and giving you a single point of contact for your entire technology setup.
