The Challenge

The BlackPink Tour, a highly anticipated music event, required robust and reliable internet connectivity to support various aspects of the production, tour staff, catering, and artist facilities. With an expected crowd of over 250 staff, the event organizers needed a seamless internet solution to ensure the tour’s smooth operation.

The Solution

Their task was to extend the internet source from the Stadium to the adjacent parking lot and establish a WiFi network that covered the Production Compound Trailers, Tour Staff, Catering, Tour Catering, Artist Trailers, and the Artist compound.

Implementation

The implementation of the solution involved the following key steps:

• Internet Source Upgrade: eTech leveraged a 1Gbps internet source from the Dodgers Stadium IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame). This high-speed source provided the foundation for the extended network.
• Parking Lot Coverage: eTech’s team extended the network to cover the parking lot area adjacent to the stadium. This was a crucial step as it ensured that all essential areas, including the Production Compound Trailers, Tour Staff, Catering, Tour Catering, Artist Trailers, and Artist compound, had access to a strong and reliable WiFi signal.
• Network Setup: The entire setup process took approximately four days, ensuring that the network was operational well in advance of the event. This allowed for testing and fine-tuning to guarantee a flawless experience during the BlackPink Tour.
• Coverage for Various Areas: The eTech team strategically placed access points to provide adequate coverage for all designated areas. This included the Production compound consisting of ten trailers and two different catering locations, as well as the Artist compound, which encompassed three trailers, two dressing rooms, and an after-party location called hospitality.
• Capacity Handling: eTech’s solution was designed to support over 250 concurrent users on the WiFi network, ensuring that all event participants, staff, and artists could seamlessly connect and communicate.
• Onsite Support: On the day of the event, eTech had two technicians onsite for network monitoring and immediate support, ensuring that any issues were promptly addressed to minimize downtime.
• Strike and Pickup: The post-event process, which involved dismantling the network infrastructure, was carried out the following day, ensuring a swift transition back to the standard stadium setup.

Result

Thanks to eTech Rentals expertise and efficient solution, the BlackPink Tour enjoyed uninterrupted internet connectivity throughout the event. Hotspots, initially provided as backup, were not needed, as the network was highly reliable, and the production team was able to get up and running quickly.
